Alissa + Zachery | Lakeside Wedding | Summerdale, Alabama
Alissa + Zachery got married right by the water at her grandparent’s house in Summerdale, Alabama (which could seriously be a wedding venue in its own rights). Romantic strings of light and dusty blue accents & eucalyptus leaves set off a cozy yet elegant atmosphere for their intimate wedding.
I love photos that pull on your heartstrings and we couldn’t go an hour without some sweet emotional moment happening. From Alissa’s first looks with her brother, dads, uncles, & grandpa (also, can all brides start doing this??), to her mom buttoning up her dress, the ceremony vows, all the dances, toasts, and moments in-between…
Thankfully, we had Memaw there who remembered to pass out tissues as the ceremony was starting. <3
The real MVPs also deserve a special shoutout, her bridesmaid/hairstylist whose beach waves lasted through the weather, and Haley’s bridal makeup that didn’t budge an inch. A+ Z seriously picked the best vendor team that’ll you’ll want to scroll to the end to see… I’m talking food presentation that could make it into an art gallery and impeccable wedding coordination that made the day a breeze!
Because they were both from California, a good number of their friends & family traveled in for the wedding. It was so sweet to watch how loved these guys were!
Here’s a little bit of their story in Alissa’s own words! “We went to the same college in California & met through mutual friends! He had a girlfriend at the time so I PATIENTLY waited for him to be single!! Once he finally wasn’t in a relationship we went to dinner and have been together every day since then!”
The big “yes” moment happened after they had gone sledding down a hill. Alissa’s mom handed her her dog’s leash and she noticed his collar was changed. On it was a tag that said “Will you marry my dad??” and when she turned around, Zach was on one knee! I saw a clip of their proposal video on social media and thought it was the cutest thing ever!
They both have such chill personalities, even with the rain coming down in sprinkles (or occasional showers), they never allowed it to steal away the tender moments of their day. Here’s to the couple that chose to dance in the rain, literally!! Congrats on your marriage and thank you for allowing me to celebrate with ya’ll!
