Savannah + Brandon Wedding | Capitol Park Museum, LA
When I first opened their email inquiry for a Capitol Park Museum Wedding, I knew Savannah + Brandon and their people would be so much fun to photograph. From their 20+ person wedding party to their near-midnight grand exit, their marriage celebration was bursting with joy (and life!!)
And they have a solid reason to celebrate, too! They’ve been together for over seven years and they share five rings between them. From her high school promise ring to her newest wedding bands on October 23rd, 2020, these two have a beautiful collection of shared promises. Plus, they’ve never broken up even once during their relationship!
Before their evening ceremony at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Baton Rouge, LA, Savannah had shared her visions of a traditional altar first look with me. Since their ceremony was late and it was so important to the couple to spend as much time as possible with their family and friends during their wedding reception at Capitol Park Museum, we decided to move their bride and groom portraits to a totally separate date!
In the questionnaire I sent before their wedding, one of the questions was “How did he propose? Here’s her answer!
On the way to a nice dinner, he proposed in front of the fountain in Perkins Rowe. Both of our dogs were there with signs around their neck saying “will you marry my dad” with flowers. Both of our families were waiting and watching from the patio of the restaurant and surprised me after the proposal was done.
The post-wedding session idea actually worked out perfectly because we were able to bring both their dogs to it! The family grew by not one, but two! Introducing the newest Mr. & Mrs. Davenports!!
