Rives + Christian | Classic Engagement Session | Jackson MS

Christian met Rives in 7th grade when he transferred to her school at St. Andrew’s Episcopal. He told her after they first started dating that he had actually called “dibs” on her in his friend group when they first met. Apparently, it worked because they’ll be married at the Cathedral there come June of 2022! 

We started off at the Mississippi State Capitol downtown then drove three blocks over to a law firm, Christian’s dad’s firm, to be exact. Their firm often had business in Vieques, Puerto Rico and it was during a vacation there that Christian leveled up from boyfriend to fiance! He proposed exactly seven years after their first date!!

Don’t be deceived by the classy business formals and these Southern-Living-Magazine-cover-worthy images, these two are fun, kind, and totally approachable! Wait till you see that black-and-white near the end. (: And it’s ok, they signed a model release, so I’ve got all my legal bases covered! 

With her working at an accounting firm in Oxford and him in law school at Ole Miss, they had made the trip to Jackson over the weekend.  As soon as we finished their engagement session, they were back on the road. Kudos to Livvy girl, their sweet 13-year-old honorary family member and cocker spaniel for bringing all the fresh smiles at the end!

In just a few short months, we’ll be back here celebrating their marriage at the Capital Club in Jackson!!

Side note: it was their first time practicing the dip and so far, we’ve had a 100% success rate. C’mon wedding day!!! Rives & Christian, thank you for letting me be part of your journey. Can’t wait to see you two again!!
