They first met when Daniel visited Hannah’s church where they were introduced by a mutual friend. Just two weeks later, they began their official relationship right before Christmas of 2018 (I went back to do the math, and realized Hannah had asked me to be their wedding photographer just about a month after they’d first met!!) They got engaged eight months later in August of 2019, and here we are today celebrating their wedding in Ocean Springs, Mississippi!!
For the proposal, Daniel took Hannah back to the marina where they had shared their first walk. He got down on one knee with a blue sapphire from Sri Lanka (because that’s where they will be moving to in a few short months!) Obviously, she said “yes”!!
Their wedding day was sweet enough, and to make it even more special they saved their first kiss for the church altar. After that, they were the most affectionate couple I had ever seen. <3 Hannah's dad was a pastor, and as a result, also their wedding officiant. So very many happy tears, but he definitely took his time signing their marriage license!
Their families were a huge part of their day – literally, too, since there were just under 20 kids between their two families. What was more incredible was to see the strong, emotional bonds between these siblings turned friends. Another crazy fact is Hannah and Daniel did most of their relationship long-distance – because his family lived in Alaska!
Afterward, we went to a nature trail in Ocean Springs for their wedding portraits. While Hannah braved the sticky mud, constant thistles, and chipper January air, Daniel stepped right into his new role and cleared paths for her, untangled thorns from her dress and wrapped his coat around her. They had quite the start to the lifetime of adventures they will be sharing together!!!
